Birch Agency is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide homebound instruction for a student with autism in Oak Lawn, Illinois. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact through individualized instruction focused on functional academics and student growth.

Position Details

Part-time, in-person position
Homebound instruction services
Student with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Focus on functional academic skills and individualized learning goals
Schedule: Mondays and Thursdays
Hours: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Opportunity for additional instructional hours as the student's academic stamina increases

Responsibilities

Provide individualized special education instruction aligned with the student's educational goals
Support the development of functional academic, communication, and independent learning skills
Implement instructional strategies tailored to the student's unique needs
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Collaborate with parents, school staff, and related service providers
Adapt lessons and materials to maximize student engagement and success
Foster a positive, supportive, and structured learning environment

Qualifications

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education endorsement
Previous experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred
Strong understanding of individualized instruction and functional academics
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and build positive rapport with students and families
