Position Purpose:

The Coordinator for Center for Repair provides strategic, analytical, and relational leadership to support the Center’s work in restorative justice, research, partnership development, and program implementation. The role advances denomination-wide commitments to repair, equity, and jubilee through coordinated research efforts, collaborative partnerships, theological integration, and effective program administration.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure data integrity, accessibility, and alignment with General Assembly mandates.

2. Partnership Development & Collaborative Engagement

  • Cultivate collaborative relationships with congregations, mid councils, national agencies, caucuses, and other stakeholders engaged in restorative work.
  • Facilitate cross-agency collaboration to align restorative initiatives, communication strategies, and joint programming.
  • Support the creation of pathways for congregations of color seeking resources, accompaniment, or restorative intervention.
  • Serve as a liaison for partners participating in research, grant programs, educational offerings, or discernment around restorative practices.

3. Program & Grant Administration

  • Provide leadership in administering grant programs that support congregational vitality and pastoral leadership in historically marginalized communities.
  • Oversee program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Support partnerships with the Board of Pensions and other agencies to strengthen congregational access to benefits, sustainability practices, and equitable compensation.
  • Ensure accountability and transparent reporting for all programmatic and grant-related initiatives.

4. Support for Racial/Ethnic Ministries & Restorative Intervention

  • Partner with racial/ethnic caucuses, mid councils, and related committees to identify restorative approaches that respond to historical harms or inequitable church practices.
  • Contribute to the development of frameworks for ministerial calls, compensation models, and support structures that promote thriving leadership in communities of color.
  • Provide strategic guidance on restorative practices within the context of Hispanic/Latino ministries and other historically marginalized groups.

5. Reporting, Communication, & Theological Integration

  • Develop written reports, summaries, and briefings for General Assembly bodies, governing boards, caucuses, and denominational partners.
  • Integrate theological frameworks of repair, justice, and jubilee into program narratives and communications.
  • Represent the Center in presentations, consultations, and denominational gatherings as assigned.
  • Support the creation of public-facing materials that interpret the Center’s work for broader church audiences.

6. Educational Leadership: Seven Stations of Repair

  • Provide leadership in the development, coordination, and facilitation of the Seven Stations of Repair educational initiative.
  • Design and support learning experiences that help individuals and communities engage historical harms and discern faithful responses.
  • Develop curriculum, liturgical resources, discussion guides, and multimedia tools for a range of audiences.
  • Strengthen integration of the Seven Stations of Repair with congregational formation, worship, and public witness.

7. Center Operations & Strategic Support

  • Participate in strategic planning, program development, budgeting, and evaluation efforts for the Center.
