We are proud recipients of the Top Workplace award, 2023 Non-Profit of the Year and 2023 Executive Director of the Year honors from the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce, and recognition as a Top Tier organization and a Recovery Friendly Workplace.

We are seeking a motivated and organized Service Coordinator to promote engagement and retention in treatment — helping individuals successfully connect to the next level of care and move forward on their path to recovery.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits
  • Multiple Medical Plans to fit your needs and budget
  • Dental & Vision Insurance
  • 403(b) Retirement Plan with 10% employer match at 1 year
  • Vacation and Sick accruals
  • 11 paid Holidays
  • 40 hours of paid Education/Training annually
  • Paid Licensure Reimbursement
  • Meaningful work making a lasting difference in the lives of individuals in recovery

What You'll Do:

As a Service Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring clients receive seamless, coordinated care throughout their time at SCADD. Working across our locations and reporting to an assigned supervisor, you will help keep daily operations running smoothly while keeping the focus where it belongs — on the people we serve.

Responsibilities include:

  • Complete insurance verification and identify payment resources; assess client eligibility for benefits
  • Facilitate the medication self-administration process and ensure compliance with protocol required by the assigned department
  • Ensure that client medications are available and properly disposed of at the time of discharge in programs without nursing departments, in accordance with department protocol
  • Manage medical, behavioral, emergency, or outside problems quickly and efficiently by helping maintain a safe environment and notifying the proper authority as needed
  • Answer telephones, sort and distribute mail, and support day-to-day office operations
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports as necessary
  • Participate in the orientation of new employees and the transfer of knowledge necessary for the performance of duties

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, external providers, clients, families, and community partners
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly in one-on-one and group settings
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and respond to changing needs
  • Ability to identify resources and minimize obstacles to support clients' long-term recovery
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
  • Commitment to SCADD's values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed practice

Why SCADD?

Since 1966, SCADD has remained at the forefront of substance use disorder treatment, continuously evolving to meet the needs of individuals, families, and communities across Southeastern Connecticut. We believe in second chances and the power of recovery — and effective coordination of care is essential to making that recovery possible. When you join SCADD, you join a team that shows up every day with hope, connection, and purpose.

If you're an organized, people-focused professional who wants their work to matter, we want to hear from you.
