IT Project Manager

PURPOSE:

The IT Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and delivery of IT projects across Aurora Organic Dairy’s Enterprise Applications Management (EAM) team and the broader IT organization. This role drives work transparency, supports agile transformation, and ensures that technology initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities.

Serving as the primary project manager for the IT PMO team, this position manages a portfolio of enterprise application projects including Infor M3/ERP, EDI integrations, data warehouse, IT Operations projects and other initiatives as assigned.

The IT Project Manager establishes and maintains project artifacts, facilitates stakeholder communications, and coordinates cross-functional efforts across multiple Aurora Organic Dairy locations including Boulder HQ, manufacturing sites and farm sites. This role champions agile and hybrid project management practices and leverages tools such as Monday.com and FreshService to improve visibility and delivery outcomes across IT.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end project management for cross-functional IT initiatives—from initiation through close—ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Develop and maintain project artifacts including project charters, work breakdown structures, Gantt charts, risk registers, issue logs, RAID logs, and status reports as required.
  • Facilitate stakeholder communications including regular project status updates, steering committee presentations, and executive summaries for IT leadership.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget changes through a formal change control process; communicate impacts clearly to stakeholders and sponsors.
  • Coordinate multi-site stakeholder engagement across Boulder HQ, plant sites, farm sites and other Aurora Organic Dairy locations.
  • Lead vendor coordination and third-party project activities, including statement of work review, deliverable tracking, and performance management as requested.
  • Maintain the project portfolio tracker in Monday.com and FreshService, ensuring all projects reflect current status, risks, and priorities.
  • Champion agile and hybrid project management practices within the IT team; facilitate sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming as appropriate.
  • Document lessons learned at project close and contribute to continuous improvement of IT project management standards, templates, and processes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts with IT Operations, Cybersecurity, Service Desk, and business stakeholders to resolve dependencies and mitigate risks.
  • Support IT leadership in resource planning, capacity management, and project prioritization across the IT portfolio.
  • Drive work transparency initiatives across the IT organization, ensuring stakeholders have real-time visibility into project status and priorities.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate proactively with project sponsors, business owners, and IT leadership on all active projects.
  • Support the IT Director of Enterprise Applications Management in strategic planning, vendor evaluations, and budget preparation.
  • Assist with procurement activities including RFP development, vendor assessment, and contract review support.
  • Participate in IT Steering Committee meetings, providing project status updates and supporting agenda preparation.
  • Periodic travel to Aurora Organic Dairy locations (farms, plant, HQ) is required to support on-site project activities and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor messaging for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain current knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices including waterfall, agile, and hybrid frameworks.
  • Contribute to IT department initiatives including process improvement, documentation, and knowledge management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required.
  • 3–5 years of IT project management experience, including managing multiple concurrent projects in an enterprise environment.
  • PMP certification (Project Management Professional) or equivalent preferred; PMI-ACP or Scrum Master certification a plus.
  • Experience managing ERP, application integration, or data warehouse projects preferred; Infor M3 experience highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Monday.com, Microsoft Project, Jira, or FreshService.
  • Strong understanding of agile and hybrid project management methodologies; ability to coach teams on agile practices.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and technology partners through complex project deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain project artifacts: charters, schedules, risk registers, status reports, and lessons learned documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills; experience presenting to executive audiences.
  • Ability to manage project scope, schedule, and budget with a high degree of accountability and transparency.
  • Experience working in multi-site organizations; comfortable with periodic travel to remote facilities.
  • Familiarity with ITSM platforms (FreshService or ServiceNow) and IT service delivery practices a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable mode of transportation and proof of automobile insurance with required levels of coverage.

Physical Requirements:
