Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team. This role supports production and maintenance operations, as well as various projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for manufacturing repair and spare parts, as well as consumable items needed for production processes. The ability to operate both conventional and CNC machines while adhering to safety standards and procedures is essential.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Support production and maintenance teams with machining tasks.
  • Manufacture repair and spare parts for production equipment.
  • Produce consumable items required for production processes.
  • Operate conventional and CNC machines safely and efficiently.
  • Take pride in personal workspace organization and cleanliness.
  • Apply and adhere to all safety standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members on various projects.

Qualifications Required:

  • 5-8 years of proven experience in the machine shop environment.
  • Ability to comfortably work at various heights and equipment levels.
  • Ability to work in a standing position while operating equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and procedures.
  • Ability to follow safe work instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Understands and applies ISO standard tolerancing system and ASME Y14.5 standard
  • Read, write and understand G/M-code
  • Willingness to take Mechanical/Machinist Aptitude Test.
  • Ability & Availability to complete additional college level courses if deemed necessary by REA Wire.

Competencies

  • Ability to use and understand measurement equipment. Dial Calipers, Micrometers, Dial Indicators & Inspection / Calibration equipment.
  • Problem Solving for mechanical applications
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanic, piping, boiler, and steam systems is helpful
  • Preventative Maintenance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • A thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment
  • Workplace standardization and cleanliness (5-S)
  • Operator Maintenance (clean, inspect, lubricate)

Schedule: 8-Hour Shift, Monday - Friday 

Pay: starting at $32.00/hour; Pay for Qualifications Structure includes up to $44/hour with company paid training

Physical Demand and Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the manufacturing site including high temperatures. The noise level in the work environment may be loud.

  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, climbing stairs, reach above and below chest level, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with arms. This position works at various levels. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds and may be exposed to chemical, non-toxic fumes or dust. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment: The employee will occasionally be exposed to Cold Temperatures <55 degrees and Heat >100 degrees. The environment is well lit; The noise level in the environment is loud due to exposure and use of fork trucks, but employee may be exposed to higher than 85 decibels on occasion, hearing protection is required. Employee may be occasionally required to enter confined spaces.
